Acclaimed wildlife and conservation photographer to speak in Canberra on Friday – The Canberra Times
He is a German-born mechanical engineer who has gone on to be an acclaimed wildlife photographer. Juergen Freund’s awards include BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year, World Press Photo and Nature’s Best.
A senior fellow of the International League of Conservation Photographers, Juergen’s images are used extensively by the World Wide Fund for Nature.
His celebration of nature is personal. It packs a powerful punch.
“What happens to your heart when a playful green marine turtle looks you in the eye? Or when lightning puts on a spectacular show for you in a burning sunset sky?” he asks.
Freund now lives in tropical North Queensland with his wife Stella.
He will give an address at The Snow Centre for for Education in the Asian Century on the grounds of the Canberra Grammar School on Friday.
It’s on from 6pm to 9pm on Friday at the school in Monaro Crescent, Red Hill.
