Jutanugarn takes slim lead into Scottish Open final round

Thailand’s Moriya Jutanugarn shot a 4-under 67 on Saturday to take a one-stroke lead after three rounds at the Ladies Scottish Open in North Berwick, Scotland.

Jutanugarn, who carded six birdies and two bogeys in the round, is 16 under for the tournament, one shot ahead of South Koreans Mi Jung Hur and Jeongeun Lee6.

“I’m just trying to play my game and have fun out there,” Jutanugarn said. “Don’t really focus on anything.”

Hur took advantage of a soft course after heavy rains to shoot a 9-under 62 on Friday, but managed just two birdies against one bogey on Saturday. Lee6, the reigning U.S. Open champion, birdied four of the final six holes on her way to a 5-under 66 for the day.

“I just want to enjoy my game,” said Hur on her approach to the final round on Sunday. “Like I don’t want to get stress from my game because this is my 11th year on the Tour, and never helps when you get stress from your game. I’m just going to enjoy my day and talking with a lot of things with my caddie.”

South Korea’s Mi Hyang Lee is alone in fourth place at 12 under after shooting 3-under 68.

The Netherlands’ Anne van Dam, who started the day in a tie for third, shot even par and now sits in a five-way tie for fifth at 10 under. She’s joined by South Korea’s Chella Choi, Thailand’s Ariya Jutanugarn, Jane Park of the U.S. and Carly Booth of Scotland.

Australia’s Minjee Lee, who entered the round at even par, had Saturday’s best round with a 7-under 64 and jumped from 60th place to a tie for 18th entering the final round.

Four-time major champion Laura Davies, 55, shot even par on Saturday to make the cut for the first time in 12 LPGA Tour events this year. The Englishwoman is tied for 44th at 2 under for the tournament.
